The HP DesignJet 510 is a large format inkjet printer that was unveiled in 2008. It was aimed at users who were looking for more reliable solutions for large format technical drawing printing. The device offers both color and monochrome printing facilities. Upon the release of this printer, it retailed at around $900. While the price remained intact for some time, you can now get a second-hand unit on Amazon for $400.
This standalone unit weighs nearly 100 lbs and has an integral stand. It attains a maximum of 2400×1200 dpi on glossy paper only. On most other printing media, you can only achieve a maximum printing resolution of 1200×1200 dpi. The maximum media size you can print using this HP DesignJet 510 is 24 in x 74.7 in. The printer can also accommodate other print sizes including A2, A3, A4 and letter sizes.
The DesignJet 510 was received very warmly on different forums by members of various online communities. For instance, engineering designers producing CAD and technical manufacturing drawings found this printer to be very useful for their work. Printing speed was another plus, with lower resolution prints taking just 55 seconds per page. Highest resolution prints were, however, slower at 16 minutes per page. This unit is rated at 150 watts, making it power efficient.

Troubleshooting a HP printer can be a nuisance, we can tell from experience, and in most cases you need the original HP DesignJet 510 Manual to get through the process, but sometimes a quick fix can be applied. This is why we created our two guides which we would recommend to go through before scrolling through the manual. The first one covers the issue when a HP Printer is Printing Blank Pages, and the second one is going through the issue when an HP printer is offline. If both of these guides didn’t help, then we would recommend going through the user manual.
