It wasn’t so long ago that Hewlett Packard Enterprise introduced their HP Instant Ink plan, although at first everyone was a bit skeptical about the service, soon enough it proved to be quiet a smart concept, not only for HP as the next strategic move on the market, but also for us consumers.
Naturally, the newest models within the Instant Ink Line of Best Buy HP Printers came preinstalled with the feature, like the HP Envy 7640. Luckily, the end user still had the option of opting out of the subscription plan and control their spending the old school way – which meant that you could still order your HP Envy 7640 Ink from your favourite store, regardless if it’s online or offline. I don’t blame you if you’re one of those users, I’m the same. I personally think that controlling the money you’re throwing on to Ink Cartridges is the most important factor when owning a printer, regardless of brand. To cut things short, let’s jump right in to our guide.
Our guide to HP Envy 7640 Ink Cartridges
The HP Envy 7640 is designed to work with the HP62 Ink series of cartridges, which consists of the black ink cartridge and the Tri-color ink cartridge. The setup is almost similar to the HP Envy 5530 Ink, just one step above. So, at this point you have several options; in case your HP Printer is not printing black ink, the most common solution is to just refill that particular cartridge, where you would need the HP62 Black Ink Cartridge. If you’re out of colour ink then you will need to go with the HP62 Tri-Color Black Ink Cartridge.
Both options are available in two sizes, where you have the regular one and the high yield one. The regular sized cartridges would probably cover you for the time being, but I would definitely recommend to go with the High Yield version, since it offers better value per print when compared with the little one. Regarding the price, expect to pay around $40 for genuine cartridges and around $30 for remanufactured HP Envy 7640 Ink Cartridges.
What are the HP Envy 7640 Ink Cartridge options out there?
In the table below I included the pricing, yield and names of several HP Envy 7640 Printer Ink cartridges, including the remanufactured solutions. While my own recommendation is to always go with genuine high yield models, it’s up to you to decide if you want to go with genuine or remanufactured ones. As with everything, both of them come with their pros and cons – so be sure to know beforehand which brand to trust.
