[Solved] Best HP Laserjet P1102w Toner Cartridge Option?

HP Laserjet P1102w Toner

When the HP P1102w came out, everyone rejoiced. A wireless laser printer that lets me use cloud printing for less than $150? In 2010? Sign me up. And many continue to sign up, as the model still goes for a little under $140 on Amazon.

Don’t get us wrong. The P1102w was always a reliable non-color printer that you could expect to last for years (unless you got the HP printer not printing black error, in which case it quickly became unreliable). But it always had the same problem, and this problem persists to this day: HP Laserjet P1102w toner. Don’t get us wrong: toner cartridges are expensive and difficult to find in general. But the price of this model’s toner made people go for remanufactured ink from the day it was released.

It didn’t help that the P1102w never made it onto the HP Instant Ink list, although that’s to be expected from a laser non-color printer. So, what happens when you run out of ink with this dusty old model? Don’t bother asking the HP Laserjet P1102w manual, as it won’t tell you. We will, however.

What is the best HP Laserjet P1102w Toner Cartridge option?

Kind of like the printer itself, the secondary market for HP Laserjet P1102w toner is flourishing. Go and check Amazon and you’ll see plenty of cartridge listings (a surprising number, actually, given that it’s a non-color). This one uses the 85A cartridge exclusively, which is sometimes listed as CE285A. Go through the vendor, find the right package for your budget and needs and you’ll be printing on this building-sized machine before you can say “A4”.
