Explosion at Konica Minolta Factory

The explosion that took place on the 12th of August in the Tatsuno factory might cause delays regarding toner supply. The incident caused no bodily harm, but the operations were halted immediately to allow for authorities to perform necessary investigations. The main cause of the explosion was static electricity that built up during the manufacturing process and Konica Minolta representatives were quick to adopt countermeasures to prevent the incident from occurring on several other similar pieces of manufacturing equipment within the premises.

As indicated by Konica Minolta, some shortages regarding toner supply are expected to occur due to the explosion and damage caused by the same, starting from mid-September and ongoing for a certain period.
